SharePoint: Intranet for Communication

Hello! We use SharePoint Online as our company intranet, and not currently using Microsoft Teams. When it comes to communications, we rely on employees to visit our intranet homepage for the latest news and updates across the organization. I know not all employees use/visit the intranet on a daily basis. Our collaboration sites are currently only on the on prem version of SharePoint. Is anyone else in a similar situation. And if so, how do you handle effective communication?

  • Hi Jovana_Rodriguez

the intranet should be designed and contain the necessary information so that users get added value from visiting the intranet and find the information they need to visit the intranet, and yes, it is a change to get information.

It can also help that the intranet is defined as the company's browser home page.

The Intranet navigation in SharePoint online can have navigation points from SharePoint online as well as SharePoint on-Premises, provided that SSO is used. Then users can enter via the SPO Intranet and when navigating to collaboration, SharePoint on-Premises sites is then started.

    Best, Dave
