SharePoint Credential Prompts

Hi All,

 

We have a SharePoint 2016 on premise environment. We have a few users that report when they open shared items in excel or in powerpoint on desktop instead of in browser they are constantly prompted for credentials. If they edit the shared document online they do not have this concern but online has some limitations.

 

I will use one powerpoint document as an example:

 

1. The document has been shared with users hence all 3 users have limited access with direct permission granted on the document only

2. 1 of the users is able to open and edit the file on powerpoint desktop without issues

3. The other 2 users are constantly prompted for credentials and the document is opened as "read only"

 

What have I tried?

 

1. Added site to the Local intranet and selected "Automatic log-on with current username and password"

2. Tried multiple client computers - they do not experience the same issue

3. Clicked "Remember credentials"

4. Tried all browsers. 

5. Restarted client computers
