SharePoint 2013 - Document URL's

Hi.

I had a user ask me the other day what the difference is between clicking the ellipsis menu and using the URL there to share the document, and just right clicking the document in the document library - go to properties of the link - and use the URL there.

Does anyone got some facts about this to give me?
