SharePoint & templates/metadata
Hi!
We have 50 odd word templates (not embedded in sharepoint) which have content control boxes embedded in them.
in sharepoint we have the columns set up to reflect these control boxes(drop down items to choose from makes our metadata).
I'm having a hard time working out how we get the templates to 'talk' to sharepoint to pull the metadata into the sharepoint columns. do you need to use info path?I'm not familiar with this software but someone mentioned it.
Any ideas please would be appreciated!
Thankyou,
Mel

Typically it works the other way around, I don't think you can have the control fields and update the other way.
Create the SharePoint document library, add the fields for meta data, add word to the library, and update the metadata for that document, then in Word add those fields to Word document using the Document Property quickparts.
In addition to this, the latest version of Word it appears as a panel as well as embedded into the document.
