SharePoine Online and Office 2016
Seeing an issue starting to pop-up in my tenant. Thought I'd query the community before raising a ticket.
We are using Office 365 and SharePoint Online with Office 2016. Lately I've been seeing that the users can't open a file from SPO in Office 2016 (Word, Excel) from IE 11. However it works when using Edge.
Any thoughts on that one???
- Hy. That is a bug. We have an open case with MS. A fix is under development. It is based on any problem with the current version of protocolhandler.exe.

This would explain why when I install Windows 10 Version 1607 the problem goes away. That update is like a new install of the O/S.
Is there a projected fix for the bug???

i got a private hotfix yesterday, it worked. Should be deployed with one of the next Office 2016 public rollouts. Details will be communicatred to me, as soon as they know about them.

No errors - the file just won't open
Even the rich client doesn't start, or it starts but remains "empty"?
