Shared Folder with Internal User, User getting Message, "You need permission to access this item".
I have shared a folder (not a document library) with an internal user, but that user keeps getting the message, " You need permission to access this item. Inheritance is broken and the folder has unique permissions. This user doesn't have access to the root site.
Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be here?
User Permissions
Error the user sees when following the link that gets emailed to them when I share the item.
RyanSteele-CoV , Yes I had confirmed that and that wasn't the issue. Thanks for your reply.
I found that the "Limited-access user permission lockdown mode" was turned activated. Once I deactivated it, the user can now access. I never would have thought that this feature exists (Not sure why someone would want a shared document blocked...), but it was exactly what I was looking for.

barlage Try having a site owner go and decline the pending access request from the user.

RyanSteele-CoV , I have deleted the users access requests and the user still cannot see the contents of the folder I have shared with them.

barlage You've checked that the end user is using the sharing link for the folder and not trying to get in some other way?
