Rollout of Modern Team Sites to First Release Full Org

To my understanding the rollout of the Modern TEAM SITES to First release customers should be finished by know.

Can someone confirm?

 

If so, in my tenant we cannot find them. What I try to do is, from the SharePoint portal, click on "+add new" to create a modern team site (with group, etc). I still get the "old" teamsite.

 

Am I just impatient or do I need to do "something" in order to get this working?

 

As I'm in the middle of a few Intranet changes, this functionality would help me a lot.

    Hi Mike, You have to make sure you do this on new Sitecollections old ones will not do till now. Kind regards, Paul

      Hi Paul,

       

      I created a new site collection yesterday. It gave me the default (old) teamsite. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

        Nothing wrong Mike, it's not fully rolled out WW...I don't still have the option to create modern Team Sites. If I'm not mistaken, you will be able to create modern team sites only from the SharePoint Landing Page (SharePoint Tile)

    I put in a support call about this, i was told that while the orginal blog article said it should be in for all first release customers by now...the deployment hasnt actually finished and is still ongoing, tenant by tenant. It would be nice to get some accuracy on this as i had to disable all modern features on my tenant because there was two different interfaces depending on what you clicked on!

      Please keep me informed.
      For the moment I need modern team sites but nog groups attached to it.
      What I just tried is create a group, got me the site, and delete the group again. Looks like the site is still there.
      If it stays this is a workaround for me, for a while

       

      Edit:

      The above does not work. Ths sites dissappears as well  (as expected).

        did you already try it with the new sitecollection? or just add new group?

    Hi Mike,

     

    I'm in the same boat.  We're First Release as well, but I can't figure out how to get Modern Team Sites to start working/showing up.

     

    I did open a ticket with MS Support and hope to have a call with them today to get more information on this.

     

    If they can shed some light on this I'll let you know.

    That has been my understanding as well but I'm not seeing Modern Team sites on any tenant where FR has been enabled. I'm not even seeing them in the demo tenant supplied to Microsoft Partners.

     

    And like you, I'm in the middle of deploying SharePoint for several clients and it would be good to know the best way forward.
