Rollout of Modern Team Sites to First Release Full Org

To my understanding the rollout of the Modern TEAM SITES to First release customers should be finished by know. Can someone confirm?   If so, in my tenant we cannot find them. What I try to do is,...

Hi Mike, You have to make sure you do this on new Sitecollections old ones will not do till now. Kind regards, Paul

Hi Paul,

 

I created a new site collection yesterday. It gave me the default (old) teamsite. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

    Nothing wrong Mike, it's not fully rolled out WW...I don't still have the option to create modern Team Sites. If I'm not mistaken, you will be able to create modern team sites only from the SharePoint Landing Page (SharePoint Tile)

    Hi Mike,

     

    you can create a modern teamsite by using this workaround at the moment:

     

    go to this url(replace companyname with your tenant): https://<companyname>.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/creategroup.aspx

     

    that will create you a modern site and group with the same name, and will be the interface for site creation (when they roll it out properly)

     

    Note: im not sure you will be able to have a modern site detached from a group in future, they are going to "groupify" all SPO team sites at some point so your ACL will be the group associated with it.

      Yep, I can create the site in this way as well. I've read somewhere you should be able to create a site without the group. But I'm not 100% sure. I try to create a small intranet with modern teamsites. But this wil also give me a few groups as well. A bit confusing for my users. Try to figure out how to get around this.

        Also be aware of navigation, even if you create the modern site using the method i described, i don't believe there will be a way to create a unified global navigation until the roll out is complete. Essentially, until the roll out is complete i don't believe there is a solid 'solution', just make sure your on first release and check every day...

    had a simmilar experience earlier. hoped it was already fixed
