- May 04, 2020
HarryNicholls Oh that's a bummer let's check couple of things make sure you have created the folder content type(like I have created named: Project Folder) and used it in your library in the setting something like this should appear:
secondly both of the view should be the default view:
third in your folder view make sure the following settings are checked
finally your document view should have the below settings:
Hopefully you get your solution
HarryNicholls Apologies for not clearing I mean to say as you are using SharePoint modern user interface it won't work but if you will use classic interface you should be able to use.
I have shown below how it does not work in Modern View
Where as it works for Classic View
I hope this helps
Vikram_Samal thanks again for your help.
I have changed my document library to the classic experience
and checked my view settings
However, my views remain unchanged
Hopefully, I've done what you expected. Do you have any further ideas?

Vikram_Samal Thanks for your help on this.
I seem to have got the views to work now from the contents links.
However, I want this document library to be visible from my homepage via a Document Library app
When i try to use this view the views get ignored and library view remains even at the folder level.
Any ideas?
