Re-apply permissions on documents
- Mar 23, 2018
If you break inheritance at library level and afterward you remove unique permissions, the items at lower levels (folders, subfolders, and files) will retain their own inheritance, i.e. either unique permissions if inheritance was previously broken or parent's permissions if it was not.
Hope it helps...

i try to understand, sorry my English is not so good :-)
if i break inheritance and i delete default permissions, i set now for example two group to the Library "toto group" with read only and "titi group" with read right.
now i come back to inheritance on the Library, you say items in Library will stay with old permissions, still "toto group" and "titi group" on all items even if Library is configured as inheritance ?
if it is that, how to re-apply permissions to items like set on Library ? because it is not a normal situation because we want permission like set on library

The items in the library's root will inherit in any case from their parent (i.e. the library), as long as you have not explicitly broken inheritance on them.
Hence, they will have permissions for "toto" and "titi" as long as the library has such permissions and not anymore when you remove those permissions.
Makes sense?
