Preventing O365 Group members to edit site navigation and pages...

Please note, if the current permission levels (Full Control, Read Only, etc) don't match your needs, you can créate a new one from that same page (there's a button on the Ribbon: Permission levels), but don't edit default levels, otherwise the change would affect all sites.
By default the Owner of the Group has Full Control over the site, and Members have Edit permissions. You can edit permissions of the site and make arrangements there. For example create a new permission level that allows edit but not deletion of content.
Site settings -> Users and permissions -> Site permissions
There you will find all groups with permissions on the site. Change Group permissions and/or move members from one Group to another with more restrictive permissions.
