Preserve Created Date When Downloading Files From SharePoint

Hello,

We are cleaning up sites and downloading inactive files from SharePoint to local network storage. I'm noticing that there is no way to preserve the original created date from SharePoint after the file is copied. The created date shows as the date the file was downloaded. In some instances this makes total sense. However, for archiving purposes it isn't very helpful. Has anyone encountered this issue? How did you solve it?

  • I have the same question, I want to have the date of the document from the Sharepoint the same/preserved when downloaded: is this possible?

Do you want the downloaded file to have the original create date it had in SharePoint or is it sufficient to have a separate file for each downloaded file (e.g. in json format) with the original SharePoint metadata details. Below an example of a part of a json file with the original SharePoint details.
