PowerPoint Template File loaded into Document Library only opens blank slide
I have two PowerPoint templates that I've added to the "New" menu in a SharePoint Document Library, but for reasons that I can't explain - these files won't open in PowerPoint.
Instead of opening a new PPTX file in the browser, it only opens a blank tab that says "loading" for a moment and then seemingly quits.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure where to start.

We are in the same position, have uploaded a PowerPoint template file (.potx) as a 'Template' (rather than 'Files' from the selection) and when selecting it from the '+ New' button, it simply opens a black browser tab.
A PowerPoint file does get created in the document library, and is labelled 'POTX File', which can be opened and does have the content of the uploaded template... it's just that first '+ New' button press for the template that doesn't open either the web application of PowerPoint, or the desktop App version...
At the moment this is confusing users no-end, so either some feedback from Microsoft, or I would simply need to remove it completely....
