Open in Desktop App is failing for Word for some users on some machines

So we have a super weird issue where some users in some doc libraries are experiencing this:   User opens file in Word Online in Doc Library Alpha User selects "Open in Desktop App Word App laun...

Thanks for sharing with our community. :smile:

All the users have different machines and maybe you need to check the license for the user?

Or The machines need to be updated for some users?

 

There should be some other tools that make the Word stop? Did you check this possibility and did you kill the Microsoft office word form Task management and tried again?
