OneDrive & SharePoint Online inaccessible after subscription transition
Thank you for your suggestions. I have performed additional checks and would appreciate your interpretation of the findings.
- Licensing and service health
- Microsoft 365 Business Standard is active, under the same tenant and user account as my previous subscription.
- SharePoint Online is enabled under Licenses and Apps.
- Microsoft 365 Service Health reports both SharePoint Online and OneDrive as healthy.
- SharePoint Online PowerShell
- Installed and imported the SharePoint Online Management Shell.
- Attempted Connect-SPOService -Url "https://**tenant**-admin.sharepoint.com".
- Received: Could not connect to SharePoint Online.
- Consequently, I cannot run Get-SPOSite to inspect the personal site's status or lock state.
- DNS diagnostics
- Reconfirmed my hostname from my browser history
- Resolve-DnsName **tenant**-my.sharepoint.com returns NXDOMAIN (DNS_ERROR_RCODE_NAME_ERROR).
- Repeated using Cloudflare DNS (-Server 1.1.1.1), with the same result.
- **tenant**-admin.sharepoint.com also returns NXDOMAIN using both DNS resolvers.
- As a control, microsoft-my.sharepoint.com resolves successfully.
These findings suggest that the problem may involve tenant-specific SharePoint Online DNS registration, provisioning, or service state rather than local browser configuration or licensing.
The issue began after an interruption of my previous subscription. Microsoft Billing Support confirmed receipt of the outstanding payment, and I subsequently activated Microsoft 365 Business Standard within the same tenant.
Based on these findings, is there any additional tenant-level check I can perform as an administrator, or does this now require Microsoft backend intervention?
My main concern is restoring access to the existing OneDrive data without risking its deletion
Thank you again for your assistance.
