O365 Sharepoint Site collection size limit

I saw some old posts on this topic here bringing it up again.

Our O365 SPO sites are set to auto grow in size. We periodically check the size of all the SPO sites and currently some of them are over 3TB in size.

are there best practices to follow when it comes to the max size recommended by Microsoft ?
