Multiple Filters in a SharePoint Online Custom List

Hi Folks,

We have been using a custom list with about 700 entries for over a year. We often apply filters on multiple columns to focus on specific data. As an example, we would apply a filter on column A to drill down on a subset of values, and then another filter on Column B - to drill down even further, and so on - often utilizing 4-5 filters, and sometimes saving it as a View for later.  This basic SharePoint functionality was one of the reasons we chose the platfrom. Recently, we've been noticing that trying to apply a filter on even the second column (Column B), removes the filter from the first column (Column A), e.g. the list is only filtered by Column B now. So the filtering beahviour we're seeing is Column A OR Column B OR Column C, and what we need is Column A AND Column B AND Column C (like it has been before).

We dont use any code on this page, just a standard  SharePoint Online Custom list compoenent.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

  • I assume you are using the list in classic mode, don't you? If so, the changes you are seeing could be related to the modernization process Microsoft is doing with lists and document libraries

Does that mean that basic functionality like using multiple filters is gone?? What are we supposed to now, especially when Modern Lists are not 'fully baked' yet? (certainly still missing some of simplicity and intuitiveness)

Hi there! I'm wondering if there was ever a solution to this? I'm wondering how to apply multiple filters also. Thanks
