Modify the conflicting site collection ID in O365 SharePoint
Hi,
Here is the problem I'm facing now.
An O365 group called "lorem" was created and then I created a team using this group directly in Teams.
However, for some reasons, I had to delete that group and re-create it again with the same name "lorem".
All functions are fine in Teams, but after a few moments, our staff failed to access the SharePoint site using the typical way "https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/sites/<lorem>", and it seems the SharePoint url for this O365 group becomes "https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/sites/<lorem2>".
Since most of our SharePoint sites are using the same name as the O365 group and it's convenient for users to remember and connect, I wonder if there is someway to fix this conflicting format.
Thanks in advance.

- Dean_GrossSilver Contributorhad a similar problem, see my solution at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint/New-sites-have-numbers-at-end-of-URL-how-to-cleanup/m-p/135748
- Asish PadhyBrass ContributorYeah, this is because the Group Alias on the SharePoint Site URL is persisted and not available for reuse for another 24 hours if I remember.
