Modern Publishing Sites
FOLLOW-UP...
ONE DAY after me posting the above message wondering where my company's New SharePoint Publishing Experience was (in our Office 365 environment)...
... this morning SUDDENLY we now HAVE the new experience !!!
COINCIDENCE ??
:-O
SUGGESTION FOR ALL MEMBERS WHO ARE STILL MISSING THE NEW SP PUB EXPERIENCE:
1. POST a note HERE that you don't have it;
2. WAIT 1 days (for the Office365 NSPE leprechans to secretly visit your website & install NSPE);
3. CHECK your Office365 environment; you WILL have the new experience !
;-)
I'm not kidding guys - the NSPE literally just APPEARED TODAY !
Cheers

I haven't seen any other mention of Modern Publishing Sites being out in the wild yet so I have to take this thread with a grain of salt. That said, I sure hope it's true. Would love to see some screens...

Question for the experts:
Situation: We have an existing intranet with a "classic" site at the top of the site collection. It's not a publishing site, but one of the other standard templates. Sorry I can't recall which template, but it's one of the first options given when you create a site collection.
We have a mix of classic and modern sub-sites and pages (we are in the nascent stages of re-doing this intranet site and would like all of it to be in the "modern" look).
Question is this: Once the modern publishing site is (for real) launched by MS, would we be able to convert our current top level site collection site (our home page) into one of these via PowerShell or something?
