Modern Publishing Sites
Greetings all,
I too am wonder what the hold-up is on the New SharePoint Publishing Experience TNSPE) !
What confuses is me is this:
1. there are myriad (Microsoft) videos since May of 2016 which are promoting The (also new) "SharePoint Framework";
2. The SharePoint Framework appears to "need" (or at least benefit from) The New SharePoint Publishing Experience (see Daniel Kogan's very exciting video back in May 2016);
3. The SharePoint Framework itself was announced as "v1.0" just last week; so...
I would think the NSPE would be READY at the same time?
Yet I find myself wandering around all my various Office365 websites, and I see neither hide nor hair of the new experience.
Has anyone tried reaching out directly to Daniel and perhaps the Microsoft Mechanics team?
Pernille-Eskebo Mechanics: guys - any word on the NSPE ?
Cheers,
-Mark
FOLLOW-UP...
ONE DAY after me posting the above message wondering where my company's New SharePoint Publishing Experience was (in our Office 365 environment)...
... this morning SUDDENLY we now HAVE the new experience !!!
COINCIDENCE ??
:-O
SUGGESTION FOR ALL MEMBERS WHO ARE STILL MISSING THE NEW SP PUB EXPERIENCE:
1. POST a note HERE that you don't have it;
2. WAIT 1 days (for the Office365 NSPE leprechans to secretly visit your website & install NSPE);
3. CHECK your Office365 environment; you WILL have the new experience !
;-)
I'm not kidding guys - the NSPE literally just APPEARED TODAY !
Cheers

- Sean PolkMar 09, 2017Copper ContributorCan post some more info of your experience with this as many people are "hoping" it to be true. It's quite odd that MS has not released any information about this being available yet you seem to have it. Normally you would expect quite a fanfare from MS about something like this.

I haven't seen any other mention of Modern Publishing Sites being out in the wild yet so I have to take this thread with a grain of salt. That said, I sure hope it's true. Would love to see some screens...

Question for the experts:
Situation: We have an existing intranet with a "classic" site at the top of the site collection. It's not a publishing site, but one of the other standard templates. Sorry I can't recall which template, but it's one of the first options given when you create a site collection.
We have a mix of classic and modern sub-sites and pages (we are in the nascent stages of re-doing this intranet site and would like all of it to be in the "modern" look).
Question is this: Once the modern publishing site is (for real) launched by MS, would we be able to convert our current top level site collection site (our home page) into one of these via PowerShell or something?

do you mind posting some screenshots of the functionality? - Clint LechnerMar 07, 2017Iron Contributor
I want it too! Ok, I'm going to wait my day now............
.......... patiently.
In all seriousness, let's hope it turns out well :) and wow is that screenshot gorgeous (at least, in my opinion).

No leprechauns have made it to this Australian FR tenant yet. Also curious what change is noted, or is it only for new publishing sites?

Mark - that's wonderful (for you).
Did you receive any notification of a new feature. Maybe in the Admin -> Messages?
Can you describe what's changed. Can you now create 'site pages' on your pub site.
I'm on first release and nothing has changed (note to leprechans) so I'm wondering how this is getting announced (here or on blogs.office.com or in admin->messages.)
