Modern Experience feedback - PDF viewer
We recently had to turn off the Modern Experience setting on our libraries due to overwhelming bad feedback from our users. There were very consistent issues and I would like to know whether these will be addressed in coming releases so that we could revisit this new interface. One of the most problematic issues is the persistence of the PDF viewer. Our viewers work heavily with large complicated PDFs and your in-built viewer does not work for them. They need an over-ride setting to default PDFs to open within their client application. In the classic interface, we were able to do this for them. Is this something that will be considered for future releases?

Stephen Rose may I draw your attention to this post?
How PDFs are handled is unlikely to change. Adobe's recommendation is to use the 'Add Account' function within Adobe Reader/Standard/Pro instead of accessing the PDF from within the browser.

I just spoke to their support this week. Here is the exact wording of their response with regards to PDFs and SharePoint:
One can open SharePoint hosted PDF directly in standalone Acrobat application from IE. However this integration works only for SharePoint On-Premise servers and not for SharePoint online (Office 365).
I recommend you submit a request on UserVoice:

Can you explain the "does not work for them" a bit more? Do you get error messages? Or is it just slow? Or maybe something else?
