Modern Document Library Webpart Issue (Managed Metadata displays as [object Object])
Hi Mike. I just checked and we're also experiencing the [object Object] Lookup issue for the modern List Preview webpart. On a positive note, the modern Document Library webpart has received numerous fixes, including the [object Object] issue for Managed MetaData columns and opening of non-Office documents such as PDFs, images, etc.
The only workaround I know of is to avoid use until Microsoft fixes the bugs. We placed links on pages that went directly to modern versions of lists/libraries rather than use the new webparts. Modern pages only supported a single-column layout until recently, so wasn't really a huge loss.
Hi
We are still experiencing issues with the Lookup columns being displayed as [object Object]. Any update on when or if a fix is being pushed out?
thank you
Susan

Both the [object object] Metadata issue and opening of non-Office docs has been resolved for us. Our organization is on a Targeted/Early release profile, however.
There are still some issues creating new documents and list items from the modern webparts but the display issues have been resolved.

Hi
We are also having issues with web part views displaying some fields as [object Object] when the field is embedded in a Document Set.
To date, issues have been with People/Group, Lookup and Managed Metadata columns.
We have been able to fix the Lookup column only by removing from the library and re-adding it to both the library and document set but the same has not worked for Managed Metadata or People columns.
Also, the column headings are not being displayed in the web part view.
Has anyone else experienced the same issues?
thank you
Susan

We are also having these issues - specifically the Lookup Column issue.
We are doing the lookup from a Word template (Office365) that we open from SharePoint. Before we migrated to Office365 everything worked fine. We have also opened and resaved the word templates in Office365, but that did not help.
You wrote that you were able to take care of the problem by "removing from the library and re-adding it to both the library and document set".
Could you tell me what you removed (and readded) from the library?
Thanks in advance!
Anne
