Missing Users and Permissions section in self-privisioned team sites

I am relatively new to SharePoint and checking out the self-provisioned Team sites in SPO. I compared the Team sites with the new Communication sites.

The Team sites don't have a 'Users and Permissions' section in site Settings, but the Communication sites do. Why is that and what are the underlying consequences?

  • Basically the idea is that you don't need to manage security for your Teams SPO site so that's the reason why the security settings are hidden. However, in the case of communication sites you have a higher degree of customization in regards of security

After my opinion, the security requirements for a team site should be higher than in a communication site since the first one is restricted and the second one normally internally public.
