Missing sites under Destinations when I try to move or copy files in modern library
When I try to move a file or folder, the destination dialogue box lists only a subset of sites I have access to under two headings: Following and Recent. How can I choose a site that is in neither of these categories?
Jan Andreas Knudsen I don't believe there is another way except to "Follow" the site prior to the copy / move operations.

Jan Andreas Knudsen share your files or folder with "email address removed for privacy reasons" and open the received link from your email, this will forward you the site, now select your desired files or folder and try to move or copy. In the left side pan you will see the site.
- KamziCopper ContributorSo not sure if anyone is still looking, but if you need a site not listed. You should go to a library in a site you want and from the ribbon click "Pin to Quick Access" and then it'll show up.
- IvoBernsCopper ContributorIs anyone from MS reading this?
Dus to reorganisation of our companies I have to move a lot of data from one site to another. I created a new holding site to host all data that is just for the upper board. But i cannot find the new holding site anywhere. Not able to move! This is hopeless, to much data to transfer with filemanager/OneDrive! Not even mentioning te fact that site icons do not work, i can add logo's till I die, but the only thing we see is capital letters with headaching background colors. - PJansenopdeHaarCopper ContributorGood day,
It appears that this is "by design". Admins without a license simply do not have this option. If you assign a license with OneDrive feature then you will be able to "pin to quick access" and quick access will show up as destination option.
Spent hours on this and then finally found this tip here:

I was able to work around this by creating a onedrive shortcut to the destination location I wanted to us e.Jan Andreas Knudsen

Dmiller90 Be careful with your OneDrive shortcuts. These can affect syncing to SharePoint later on. It's a tough one to troubleshoot.
Glad you found a work around though!
- mohandarCopper ContributorWorkaround is to mark destination library Pin to quick access go to source library select files your are trying to Move/ Copy then select action Move to or Copy To destination library will be displayed in quick access section of the dialogue and you can move or copy files to

Jan Andreas Knudsen - i solve the issue by doing this step at the destination site: "pin to Quick access" first. AFter that, when i repeat the "move to" action from source sharepoint site, my destination site will appear.
- William_AllianceCopper ContributorThis works here - but to unpin I had to go to OneDrive. This is such an annoying way to work around this.
Why can't we just search sites themselves? There is a search bar at the top, but it searches for files only. Why would we need to search for files to move files? Why can't Microsoft just add a simple "All Sites" option, or "Search Sites"? - StefamCopper Contributor^^^This worked! Thank you!

CGLow > One of the cumbersome workarounds still needed for this basic Sharepoint issue that appears to remain an issue for the future to come.
- BernarddoCopper ContributorI agree, this basic function is impossible to use. I try to move files from a libary to another one but I can't see one of the two in the "recent" list or the "quick access". There is no possibility to browse along the site content.
What a disaster!- rhelm2024Iron ContributorMy workarounds have been to add destinations with "Pin to Quick Access" and "Add Shortcut to OneDrive". I will have to resort to PowerShell in the end, I suspect
It's almost the SharePoint developer team were trolling us. Kind of like God and the Devil in the biblical Book of Job, betting on how much abuse we will take before we lose faith. "Let's break the 'move document' function in the document manager! Surely that will be enough?"

Jan Andreas Knudsen This is really terrible. I can't believe this isn't fixed. I have both sites open and I can't move one fking file to another because it won't show up on the special little list. Oh but a SharePoint site I haven't opened in four years shows up. Cool.

Pam614 agreed! The only work around I found that eventually worked was to create a folder on the site that isn't showing up and upload a test file to it. Wait like 5-10 minutes then close out of all browsers then go back into the sites and try to move again. Very frustrating.
- MatrixCreatorCopper ContributorThe immediate solution is to download the file/folder to be moved/copied from the source and then upload the file/folder to the destination.
- MatrixCreatorCopper ContributorI resolved it by clicking 'Pin to Quick Access.' It seemed to be nailed on the copy/move destinations bar.
- Bianca2050Copper ContributorThis solution as well as others will only work if you're licensed, correct? What if your admin account is unlicensed? Following doesn't do anything, it just immediately unfollows and "pin to quick access" fails, presumably because I'm unlicensed. Are there any workarounds for unlicensed admins or are we forced to purchase a license? In the past, I'd be able to add Teams to the site to make this work but I'm not given that option when creating the site despite it being a Team site. Is that because I'm not licensed for Teams? Extremely frustrating.
