Microsoft Excel Online File Size limit
I have been struggling for ever to get an answer on this.
We upload Excel files to our Sharepoint documents folder so everyone can use the files live.
They open the Excel file online and work in it.
I read somewhere there are size limits to this (I read 50 Meg)
Some of our files (after 3 years) are now over 50 Meg, but users are still able to open them online and work with them.
Can someone PLEASE give me an answer to this?
Thanks
Chris Botha It should work up to 100MB. Check below Microsoft official documentation for more information:

- Chris BothaCopper ContributorThere is a difference between the size when you just upload and the size you can actually use and open/edit in Excel online.
It is this difference no one can explain to me.
I have an issue with the size of an Excel file you can edit using Excel online.

ganeshsanap Is it only the web viewer that will no longer work once the Excel file reaches the 100MB size limit. For example, can users of the shared file still open it from their OneDrive/Sharepoint link (even though they may not being to edit it in the web view) and then select Edit in Desktop App to edit the file?
We have an Excel file that is shared by 40+ people and there are typically 10 to 20 people in the document at any given time. The file is fast approaching the 100MB limit.
Thanks in advance!
