Metadata breadcrumbs show numbers in place of term names
We use the Term Store on our SharePoint sites for tagging. One thing we noticed recently is that, when filtering in the modern library view (e.g. by a custom column called 'Client' that refers back to a managed metadata term set), a number appears, rather than the term name. For instance, if I filter by a client called 'ACME' it shows the number '59' in the breadcrumb trail, rather than the term 'ACME'. Does anyone out there know how to fix this?

Did you find a workaround for this number issue when applying a filter on the modern view? I also tried playing arround with the descriptions in ManagedTermSet template with no luck... Quite irritating because users gets confused when applying filters.

I did not. I worked with MS directly and they were not able to provide a fix either. It was their supposition that we had a customization somewhere that was causing the issue but they could not offer a suggestion of what that might be.

I'm now having this issue too. Are there any updates? Did anyone manage to fix it?

I have a similar issue. We too use the term store for tagging. Our issue with the random number appearing happens when doing a search. the results under the refinement web part is where these numbers appear, although in our case the number precedes the tag. We have checked the search schema and the The Refiner used is "refinableString04" for Document Type. When looking for the managed property "refinableString04" the mapped crawled properties are: ows_Document_x0020_Type, and Document Type Type for both is text
