Mandatory field - Required field
By default, after uploading a file in a library/list, a missing mandatory field / metadata was marked yellow. This is no longer the case since January 2024. Will this be fixed by Microsoft?

I will suggest you to raise a support ticket with Microsoft directly and report this document library behavior to them if it is happening with multiple document libraries in your tenant. Follow: Get M365 support - online support
After reporting this, they will fix the issue.
