Managed Metadata Navigation not showing for users

Good Day,

We have an issue where an admin tried to assign managed metadata navigation already assigned at top level to a new subsite in another site collection. There was an message that it will break the navigation for the already signed site. The Admin did not click OK and closed the browser. However, we think, since then all the managed metadata navigation is not visible to the users. Only the Site Collection Admin can see the managed metadata navigation. Tried to re-apply it at top level site collection level but did not help.

Can someone share some insight on how to fix this please. appreciate any feedback.
