Lots of templates within a Document Library
I have a client who has 50+ templates. They like the feature in SharePoint Online which allows you to choose from the menu bar | New| and the the template that you uploaded. The only problem is I'm sure there is a limit to how many templates you can upload and with so many it's going to be difficult to scroll through them all.
Key to the requirement is that when someone chooses a template that they don't accidentally overwrite the template and Word saves automatically to the Document Library that they are working within.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Did you ever resolve this? I have the same issue right now. It's quite frustrating that the "New" menu doesn't allow subfolders, because that would resolve this problem immediately.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a solution. I've come to the conclusion it couldn't be done.
