Lookup column with the new List experience

Hi,

Does anybody know if Microsoft is going to enable the lookup columns to reference to lists outside a SharePoint Online site?

Now, with the new Lists App, you can share a list with an O365 group, just certain people or even have a private list for yourself. So, it would make sense that a lookup column can be referenced to a list outside a site, as that list can be shared with everyone in the organization. 

This would be quite handy as you could reference directly columns like "name of customer" from the "customer list" and so on...
