Christopher Nellingdefault behaviour is for search to search the whole list unless you hit the list threshold. Does not matter what is loaded on the page.
What you will find is the usual search issue that unless they use the whole word "fullword" and not just "full" they will not get a result. Partial matching is not implemented without using "full*"
