Left navigation links disappears

Im currently working on adding navigation links in the left navigation menu. My problem occurred when I changed to the publishing site. What happens is that when I add links to the subsites...
You can configure left navigation using Publishing too...this has been working since SharePoint 2007 times!

I don't think you understood my question! Of course, I know it works but it does not work this time and there is a lot of work if I have to redo everything. As I described in the text, I have found similar problems but no answer.
