Issue with custom Content Type (CT) in document library when added as list web part

Question

Using a custom CT with associated template seems to work fine directly from a document library but not when the document library is added as a list part on a page?

The document gets created but the associated template does not load. Se attachment.

Is this a bug or does a trigger of custom CT (with associated template) not work from list part (document library)

I think this is an existing bug. Custom document template doesn't show up in Modern library webpart.

I see a uservoice request created for this.

Thanks, it might be related. I can see the new Custom document templates but when selecting it, it will not launch the template.
