Is it possible to have different column settings for different folders within a document library?
Can you have specific column settings for specific folders?
Or do the column settings apply to the entire library?
Most columns settings apply to the library.
The only thing you can set for columns on folders is default value.

Do you mean that the column settings can only be set for the entire library and not for individual folders within the library Martin-Coupal ?
madame206 Yes, but like I said, folders in the library enable you to set different default values for any columns in the library.
What kind of column settings would you like at the folder level?
- You can only do this if you have different Content Types you can use to create your folders
