How to view SharePoint-site in anonymus / incognito/ stealth mode? Keep hidden from analytics.

Hi,

I'm admin of SharePoint in my organization. Therefore, I setup sites and help site managers organizing a document structure.

My events in the site are visible in the stats. For example, when I visit a page or open (view) / download a document. I see, in my own dashboards (frequently used sites), that I have viewed some documents. How can I stop SharePoint log my events? It may record events of site members but not of me or other admins.

Thanks!

  • Hello,

I do not know if that is actually possible. However, you could perhaps use an anonymous access link. In that way, you might bypass the analytics.

In SharePoint Admin center, you need to edit the sharing permissions to allow "anonymous access" to the specific site collection. Note! That this is good to try out in a non-critical/sensitive information site, just to be on the safe side. For example, create a demo site and modify the sharing permissions on that specific site.

When that is done, you will now be able to share the page, doc library, list or item in anonymous access.
If this helped you, please mark as best reply. 🙂

        Yours sincerely,
