How can we restrict the 'all items' view from all users?
We have a master list of all items, and we've added filtered views for a specific group within our organization. How do we share the view of the master list of items (all items) without allowing t...

Hi GregFletcher1 ,
ah, ok... you are on a list view.
Go to "Gear"->"Add a page" and add a new Site Page.
On that page click the "+" in the middle and add the "Lists Webpart"
Now select your list and press the little pencil at the top of the webpart
A dialog opens on the right side and you can set the "Show See All Button" and the commandbar to be hidden
Now press Publish at the top of the page to save that page.
Now you have a content page containing the list view webpart without the option for a user to switch the view
Now you can communicate the URL to that page to your users and let them work with that page.
Best Regards,
Sven

Thanks very much for the reply.
Okay, so I do get that dialog when I select the gear icon, but I don't see that edit function and also don't appear to be in classic mode...?

Hi,
I found I needed to hide both the 'Command bar' and the 'Show all' option. If I don't hide the 'Command bar' then the user can still switch to the 'All items' view.
The problem now, is that if I hide the 'Command bar' and 'Show all' options, although everything is perfect in every other way, the user can't seem to then create a new item in the list... This is necessary as the point of the list is for them to create new CPD items as they complete them.
If the end user can still see 'All items' it doesn't work, and if the end user can't add items to the list it doesn't work either...
This is crazy, I can't believe that this isn't something many companies wish to do...? Have a list that allows users to create and update items in the list, but not see all other users' own private items too? And finally, have admins be able to also create list items for the end users.
So close...

Superb! You are amazing. That was an excellent and clear set of useful instructions.
Thank you very much.
I'm trying it all out now.
So far, this seems to be accomplishing what we were after. I've had to edit the navigation section to remove the main list from everyone's view as they could still just select that, but I think this may be the answer.
After first tests though, everything defaults to exactly what was desired but even if my test user goes to the final link, they can still go to the named view and select it to still see the 'All items' view..?
My concern now, is if users are able to select site contents and then access the original 'all items' list, but I will now test.
I very much appreciate your response and help,
Greg.
