How can I remove "Change Request Status" column and Item scheduling on 'Documents'

Environment = O365 SharePoint Online

I would like to remove or unbind the Publishing feature stuff on my existing library with a name and URL of 'Documents'.

Specifically - I would like to remove 'Scheduling Start Date', 'Scheduling End Date' and 'Change Request Status' from the library.

 Document Properties Publishing feature, only on default content type.

Here is how I think I got into this.  I deleted the default library with the URL of 'shared%20documents' and created a library with the title and url of 'Documents'.  Many months later, we needed to activate the web scoped SharePoint Publishing feature. This feature creates a library called documents and since it already existed it added the publishing stuff to my library.  Now users are complaining because they see these unecessary properties when they view\edit document properties.

This is a good one,  who's the champ that knows the answer :-)

  • Hi Gregory,

    Try "Allow management of content types?" under advanced settings of that library, click on the column you want to hide and choose hidden.

      Hi Andrew Silcock,

      I appreciate your response.  Allow management of contents types was enabled.  The Change Request Status is separate from the item scheduling.  I was able to remove the item scheduling by counter intuitively "enabling content approval" then changing versioning to major\minor, they turning on the library setting for item scheduling then turning it off. Then turning off content approval and switching back to just major versioning.  Whew and quirky.. I may have gotten to the solution on my own, but I found help from ...

      I think one of our users added the Change Request Status field and now I have to follow-up.

      Thanks - Greg
