Hide a WebPart

Hi

We have a SharePoint modern communication site and have a number of out the box webparts add.

What we want to do is have a "Event" web part on the site that is only viewable to certain people.

We have added this webpart and set permission on this list and while this hides the actual "Events" the webpart is still viewable as can be seen below...

Anyone know if there is a way to totally hide this so that only people in the relevant group can actually see this (incuduing heading and +add event)

Thanks

    HiPn1995 ,

You could try and see if the Highlighted Content Webpart could meet your needs. It has audience targeting whilst the Events Webpart currently does not. By specifying a group of users in this Webpart users who are not part of this group wont see the Webpart.  You can filter this Webpart on events.

    Hope that helps.

  • WebParts are not securable in the way you have described so It does not matter if you have set a specific permission for the Event lists, the Events WebPart will still be visible in your site
