Guests should not be able to open and copy documents
Hi
I would like to invite a guest to my team website. However, this external guest should not be allowed to open, copy or synchronize documents. Does it make sense to set up an O365 group for this and, if possible, to assign it the desired rights?
Guests should only see the structure of the team website pages, not the contents of the documents.
Is that possible?

- Depends on what you mean by guests. If it’s a 365 group guest in teams etc. then these have member permission by default and without removing other members permissions you can’t really do that. You might be able to apply conditional access etc. to do this but that would require some azure ad p1 licensing for all your users and then 1 for every 5 guests as well.
If you are talking about DharePoint only then you’ll be able to “share” your site with external users by choosing the share site only option if it’s group connected. Prior to doing this. As previous reply go to any content you don’t want them to see and break inheritance, that way when you share to your external user they will not be added to those locations. You don’t want to do this on site pages as this library contains your site pages. Also you can do this at the file level as well if you wish to get that granular.
Hope this helps. - Thuyavan GanesanIron ContributorYes you can do it by breaking the permission inheritance. Basically you need to create an O365 for your external users and grant read-only - View only access to it on the site level and then give unique permission to the document library (Restrict the group).
Hope this helps !
