Filter reset when viewing document
We use Sharepoint to store all of our organization's documents. I have special columns added to help filter specific information, then page through the documents. For example, all of our locations upload their purchase orders to a folder. I then filter any that do not have a payment type and grant type (I code these). I click on the first document and open the information sidebar to code the document, then click the arrow to move on to the next document. In the past, the next document would have been the next one that fit my filter selection. Now it clears the filter, and I have to back out the filter again and go into the document. Is there any workaround to keep the filter?

I'm having the same issue. Before I filter the library, I can preview a document and see the arrows to navigate through the library. Once I filter the library and then preview a document, I lose the ability to navigate through the filtered set of documents. Me and a coworker feel confident that we were able to filter and navigate last week. Has anyone else noticed a change? Any suggestions for resolving this?
If I create a view that filters the library, then I can navigate between documents while previewing.

you can create a view with predefined filters, the view will only show items with this filter.

Unfortunately, that isn't working either; once I am in the preview of the document it reverts back to the all documents view.
Try accessing the view directly via URL instead of changing the view.
It is believed a recent change has caused these headaches with the views, filters and the file viewer. It has progressively gotten worse over the last couple of days where the custom views doesn't load any documents on the fly (having to click on 'click to see more' 3 times before anything shows up).
I am having the same problem. In my case we work for many stores, when I filter for one of the stores, in the past I could see all the documents by doing "preview" and changing the document with the arrows. Now, when doing "preview" the filter is removed and then I can't see the documents.
The solution I have found at the moment is to filter and download the documents. But it makes the work very slow.
