Fileshare migration
Hi As the MS SharePoint Migration Assessment Tool (SMAT) only works for SP Farms. What to use (to identify any file "issues") when it is lots of Fileshares that needs to be migrated to SPO? ...
Unfortunately the SharePoint Migration Tool does not provide a pre-scan of a file share...you have some reports, but only when you have done the migration: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/using-the-sharepoint-migration-tool-reports. It's true that the tool do a scanning before trying to upload the files to SPO, but I think it's not enough for what you need. So for doing the prescan you will need to go to third party tools and use the trial version with the risk you will not have a full pre-scan of your file share
