"Files that need attention" missing for some users

Some of my users have let me know that they no longer have the "Files that need attention" option in the All Documents drop down of a library that they use daily. I haven't been able to identify any change or setting that could be causing this.

The dropdown should look something like this:

But for some users it looks like this:

Any thoughts?

the view will only appears, when user see the files, that need attention...have they enough permissions?

As workaround you can copy the link to the view and send it to the user.

I have just been contacted by a SharePoint user that they have been experiencing the same issue over the last few days.  She was able to see "Files that need attention" as a menu option up until yesterday, however, this is no longer showing as an option - see below.  There have been no site or permission changes made which would have resulted in this.  Other users with same access can still see Files that need attention in the list.

As a workaround for now, if she searches for one of the files which needs metadata adding, it then brings up the red dot and the Files needing attention button, which she can then click onto.   However, there is definitely an error or glitch here and it is not ideal.
