Event Calendar Start and end date

for a simply test i use the standard list template "Event itinerary" from Microsoft (+New > List > Create a list > Templates from Microsoft). The list contains a start and end date and other calculations, after adding a Calender view, Events over several days are displayed in the calendar for each day.
Can you check the standard template and using inputs from there in your custom list?
