Email on Document Libraries
Good Day
We are being asked by our customers if its possible in associating an email address to a document library in SharePoint Online. We were able to do this in the past with on premises environments. The use case is for an email address that a backend system can email reports (not really end users emailing content to the document library). One option I can think off is using a SharePoint Online site with Office 365 Groups (Maybe Teams). Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks

- Thuyavan GanesanSteel ContributorHi Juan,
There are 3 options. I have recently implemented this for my customer, I tried 3 options and finally settled with combining Option 1 & 3
1. Site Mailboxes
2. Office 365 Groups
3. Using MS flow
PLease through this article and let me know if you have any questions

- Thuyavan GanesanSteel ContributorYes Juan you are right. thanks for pointing me out. What I meant by saying combining Option 1 and 2 was, we have created a non person account in O365 which can receive emails from customer (kind of replicating the site mailbox) from there using Microsoft Flow we update the list and library.
Sorry for the confusion :)
You'll want to use Microsoft Flow to now accomplish this. See this article for an idea of how you can do it but it's pretty powerful. https://beyond-sharepoint.github.io/o365/walkthrough/2016/08/01/creating-an-email-enabled-list-in-O365-and-microsoft-flow.html
However if you have or use Microsoft Teams you can "Get E-mail address" on a channel that you create, and easily forward these e-mails to the channel which will also save the e-mail and attachments to the associated files tab as well as post a message that people can follow if they want to get alerts.
