Doc library reverts to classic when included as a web part
I have a document library. It appears as Modern when viewed natively. I have set Library Settings > Advanced > List Experience to "New experience". In the new experience I use the "+ New" button to edit the New menu and add a custom template. So far, so good. Then ... I create a web part page, add the document library to a zone, and the library appears in Classic mode ... old-style "New" button without my custom template (see attachment). I want it to appear on a page in the new style with my NEW menu customizations. Any ideas????
I'm in a Corporate environment (company.sharepoint.com). I'm the site admin, but nothing more.
- WebPart pages are classic pages so if you add a document library webpart to a webpart page you will see it in the classic experience. The new way to add templates to a document library in the modern experience is just for the modern experience and not for the classic one
- mlbegemanCopper ContributorThanks. So...if I understand you correctly, there's no way to have a 2-column 'page' that has, say, a calendar on it and also a document library that appears in the modern experience? Or is there some new thing besides a web part page that I can use to accomplish this?
