Custom colors not appearing correctly

I've installed custom colors into my SharePoint sites, and the end result isn't looking quite right. 

 

This 'SharePoint start page' button, when hovered over the icon color is too dark and the background color is not appearing correctly, it's very brown. I've added swatches over that button of the colors that should have been in the scheme and it's none of them.

For both, which slot code is this?

And for the brown, is there a reason this is happening? an overlay or something?
