Create the Type

Hi I have a document library which has the default column Type (icon linked to document).

However I don't want it can be linked to the document.

So I would like to know if it is possible to remove the link for the Icon Type.

I am also considering to create one Picture column which show the type icons.

Could you please kindly tell how to create it?
