Convert document library to an asset library or move document library contents to Asset library

I have a Document library that was created in error with primarily media files in it.  We would rather have the files in an Asset library to take advantage of the features/views it has.  is there some way to accomplish this?  I do want to retain the metadata on the files.

    Have you tried the Copy to action in a modern library? It allows to copy documents between document libraries...it might happen your files are big in size and this approach wouldn't work. As an alternative you can consider to use a third party migration tool (Sharegate, Metalogix) even in trial mode...

      Thanks Juan 3rd party options in trial mode skip files from what I see.

       

      The copy action works but everything keeps the content type as document which is not desired, and from what I can tell you can not bulk change content types.
