Communication Site has no 365 group, safe to add one?

I've created a Communication Site, and started populating it.  The owners of the site have a use for an email, and some group features.   I was expecting to get denied the ablity to create a group with the same name but that's not the case.    Think it's safe to create a group with the same name?

    Have you checked the Url of the Group site? I think is not the same so you can potentially create a Communication site with a name and re-use it for a Group

      I didn't articulate myself well... Yes, you are correct. it will allow me to create a group with the same name.  I'm not sure if I should, because won't it try to create a sharePoint site as well?   I don't want that to overwrite my existing Communication site.
