Classic Site With Modern Libraries Not Templating To Modern Libraries

Question

Users have one main site collection and create multiple sub sites using classic site template. Users converted libraries to modern experience in site used as template. After saving the site as template and creating new site using that template, we expected the new site would retain libraries modern experience and custom formatting settings but these settings/configurations are not templating over to new site.

Wondering if somebody has similar experience and share any workarounds.

Currently we are looking at either using script to modify the configuration or manually doing it after creating new site from classic site template.

Any thoughts?

in modern can be script a good way, but im not sure it's alos possible with classic.&nbsp;
But keep in mind, Microsoft will do any changes on classic sites, also deprecations. It's time to move modern.

Summary:Custom scripting will be disabled by default for certain SharePoint Online templates starting September 15, 2025. Users can manage site property bag values without enabling custom scripting. Creation of new classic publishing site collections and activation of publishing features will be restricted. Existing sites remain unaffected.
